Arrangements of Satie and Debussy piano works focus on Yang's
delicate finger-work, while the sunny Granados "Zapateado" shines
a light on her rhythmic panache.
Meanwhile, Yang's deep, sonorous tone is perfect for de Falla's
soulful tribute to Debussy. There are a couple of less familiar
but equally beautiful tracks: "Una dia de noviembre" by Cuban
composer Leo Brouwer is reminiscent of Ennio Morricone, while John
Brunning's exquisite "Romance No. 3" is recorded here for the
first time.
