2009 October - Xuefei's news
October has been particularly busy, with 6 concerts &
2 live radio broadcasts. Fei started the month with two solo
concerts in Cornwall, UK, including a concert in the caves at
Carnglaze Caverns !
The following week saw her return to her childhood city of Beijing
for the first ever solo concert at the National Centre of Performing Arts.
A few days later she and Natalie Clein performed at the Macau
International Arts Festival.
Returning to the UK, Fei played the world-premiere of
"The Albeniz Concerto," with one of the UK's oldest
orchestras, The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic. The concerto
by British composer Stephen Goss, was commissioned for Fei by EMI.
The month ended with Fei's debut performance in King's Place,
London, as part of the London Guitar Festival.
The month also saw Fei give two live performances on BBC
radio.
Fei also met with Cecilia Rodrigo, daughter of
the composer Joaquin Rodrigo at a performance for the winners
of the Rodrigo Competition, in London. They first met in Spain
over 15 years ago.
