“Certain pieces of music seem to speak from the soul of a
musical instrument. They capture your heart and draw you close, in
a way that could only happen on that instrument. This album —
inspired by a personal selection of these guitar favourites —
relates my musical journey along a path less travelled, from
learning the guitar as a young girl in China to becoming an
international performer. On my musical journey, I have grown as a
person and as an artist. I know the guitar better than ever, and
have my own voice on it. I feel that it’s time to return to the
quintessential guitar music that moved me at first listen - music
that revealed ever more facets over the years. Guitar Favourites
reflects the artist I am now. I very much hope that my personal
interpretation of these guitar favourites will connect with and
inspire others.”

You can listen in Spatial Audio - the recording was made using
Dolby Atmos which gives a height dimension to the sound.
Reviews
There’s nothing quite like listening to Yang’s brilliance solo,
and this feast of guitar ‘classics’ (reflecting stages in Yang’s
career, but here all newly recorded in an inspired two-day
session) is every bit the treat you’d expect. An added highlight
is the first piece Yang has written herself, ‘Xinjiang Fantasy’, a
natural progression from her superb ‘Sketches of China’ album. ArtMuseLondon, January 2023
Yang brings to her trademark lightness and sweetness of tone and
impeccable technique a greater expressive freedom than ever before
